It had been about three years since Azula had gotten her bending taken away. She wouldn't show that it bothered her, truthfully the only thing that did was the cold feeling always inside her now. She simpley hated it. She felt as though she shouldn't be in the Fire Nation, or in the royal palace. She looked down upon herself for not winning against her brother, and she hated the fact that she couldn't see what a terrible man her father was. She felt her brother should've bansished her, or worse, rather then just giving her another chance. To her, it didn't make any sense.

The young princess wondered the gardens of the palace, there were so many wonderful flowers, full of colors. Azula had never took plesure in these things before. She wasn't payig attention to were she was walking. She didn't too much, she was just about always in deep thought. Suddenly, she bumped into something, or more like someone.

"I am so sorry!" The princess heard the man say.

"No, it's fine, I should be the one appoligizing." Azula said, now looking at the guy. It was Prince Sokka of the Water Tribes. In her opinion, he was the weirdest, but funniest, out of the group. She rarely talked to him.

"I was about to fo feed the turtle ducks, do you want to join me?" The young man asked.

Azula was slightly shocked at the question, why would he ask her? The Princess shrugged, "Uhm....Sure."

The two walked over to the pond, Sokka sat down, Azula chose to stand.

"I love these little guys." Sokka said, ripping off some bread and throwing it to the hungry ducks.

"I suppose they are alright." Azula said, a small smile on her face when the babies ate the bread.

"So, why are you always out in the garden?" The warrior asked, slightly curious.

"To get away from life." The princess replied.

"So, to get away from life you go to the place filled with the most life?" Sokka chuckled.

"What do you mean? Noone bothers me there." Azula asked, slightly confused.

"All the plants are living, all the bugs on the plants, everything's full of life there." Sokka stated looking up at the sky.

Azula's eyes widened, he certainly did think diffrently than her. "I never considered that."

"Most people don't." Sokka replied.

"Are you saying that I am just like most people?" Azula asked, normally people wouldn't compare her to others.

Sokka looked up at the girl. "Of course not. You are the most interesting and beautiful girl that I have ever met. You stand out from everyone else, and act diffrently. I like it."

Azula blushed slightly. "Noone has ever thought about me like that, so why do you think that?"

"Because I see things diffrently than most poeple," Sokka stood up infront of the girl, his next words were barely a whisper. "and I see the true beauty you hold."

His lips then pushed against Azula's. The princess paused for a moment, unsure of what to do, then she kissed him back. She felt this burning sensation in her body that she hadn't felt since she lost her bending. The kiss broke, and Sokka just held the girl against his chest. Azula now realized that she didn't need her bending, and she didn't miss it anymore.
